We have been discussing and looking at different artists who created paintings of landscapes. We then created our own landscape art pieces, inspired by the view from outside our classroom 😊⭐️.

This week with in writing we created poems that followed a specific rhyme scheme. We planned our rhyming pairs, chose our rhyme scheme and created our own poems. If we had time we up-levelled this work 😊⭐️.

This week we have been exploring BODMAS. We even had a go at a BODMAS escape room where we had to work in teams to solve different problems to escape before the hour was up 😊⭐️.

We have decided as a class that we are going to read for at least ten minutes everyday in class. We have chosen a comfy spot and are ethier reading our class novel, a book from home or using our iPads to read online through Borrow box or Epic 😊📚

Today we have been doing revision on factors and multiples. I have uploaded a game on to teams that will help with practise, if there is any opportunity to play this at home that would be a great help. We are also focusing on the 7 times table this week 😊.

We will shortly be starting a project about Scotland. Today we started by checking if our surnames were linked to a tartan then we designed our own tartan. We focused on the use of line to create a pattern. 🏴

This morning we have started a joint project with Primary 5 to come up with ideas to revamp our quiet room. We are currently in the planning stages and hope to complete this over term 3 😊.

This week we have started a block on poetry. Our focus was thinking about the language we could use. We recapped similes, synonyms and rhyme and then created poems about our favourite food or drink. Our poems did not need to rhyme if we didn’t want it to⭐️.

Yesterday we took part in a STEM challenge where we had to create a Santa sleigh and a slope. We spoke about friction and forces and had to use our knowledge of measurement to calculate how far Santa travelled 😊🎅🏼!
