One thing I’m absolutely certain of here is that no matter how bad the trade package is for Sherwood, it’ll be forgotten once the terms of the extension are announced.

Does WAR7 control for era? Not sure about bWAR, but fWAR Felix was top 10 every year 2009-2014 and only outside the top 4 in 2011.

I originally thought Drury gave the pick up because he saw this coming but now I’m convinced it’s so he’d have it in hand for another quick fix.

I do. This is a teardown and by the time it can be built back up, Fox would be a defenseman on the wrong side of 30 who was always reliant on elite smarts, not athleticism. I wouldn’t bet on that aging well so sooner the trade, better the return. Absolutely not a knock on Fox, it’s on Drury.
