I love skiing trees in the West. That's where the powder was today.

We limped into Deming NM with an electrical issue and realized the alternator was only putting out 6.5 volts. I purchased a new alternator, serpentine belt and battery. Luckily Otto from Brother's mobile service got us back on the road quickly even with the rusty bolts.

Being in such a different environment gets me contemplating plants and their ability to adapt. These desert plants have been able to make this arid place their home and create an environment for a complex ecosystem. These cacti are tenacious as shown in this photo

It's great to be in the Southwest enjoying the weather and beauty here far away from what is happening in DC.
