I've seen some absolutely breathtaking physical items from small creators, all the more knowing what they're working with.

I've been lucky in my eternal dev cycle to work with champion craftspersons and artists, all on a goblin's budget. But I really do attribute that to luck.

I would hope one could carve out a space for indie books where budget is an issue.
I imagine it doesn't take much research to find an affordable enough printer to reliably avoid a bad binding, etc.
But Indies don't necessarily have room for genuine Fanciness?
