Don Minotti turning up in his robe and, I assume, making demands. Love to see it

It’s sensationalist framing, but I think the lack of a new feeling title (MKW simply doesn’t have that feel) means there’s simply less ‘energy’ about it. I’ve seen and heard chat too but it’s a lot of general contentment rather than effusive excitement.

It’s obviously talking about the weapon, because everyone knows the rocket launcher in goldeneye was the only good one from 1997 on, especially compared to what was available on PC at the time. It wouldn’t be surpassed until Goldeneye Rogue Agent on DS, which ALSO never came to pc.

It’s such a ‘bad boy’ move to not only return to the scene of the crime, but document it so brazenly

It doesn’t seem right to hand-waive the entire Quest product line because horizon worlds has not taken off. VR may have stalled as a category but it’s still an exciting area for gaming and ents that Meta kinda own. Fine to say that’s not worth 45 billy but I don’t have those numbers to hand myself

Yeah I’m just speculating. But I’m thinking less about the compute demand of running the game in any one instance than the port work and distribution etc associated with keeping old games running on modern hardware (offset by the fact they get ‘free’ training for their model)

For one game, yes, but I would guess that MS can create economies of scale with their other AI infrastructure, and it’s the investment for them for a game making model that they can offer to publishers for getting their old games on their service. Plus if it makes their model better, win win

Is the argument something along the lines of: “it costs you money to make old games run on new platforms, but our AI can watch the game footage and then make a playable version”

Inherent to that is “train our game making AI on your IP” which is what I think the real goal for MS is
