Comics piss me off sometimes, man.

From JSA (a book I genuinely enjoy) #8:

"IT'S THE UNNAMED ONES!"

Immediately gives them names on the next page.

Come on, maaaaaannn.

Being as I'm a physical media kind of guy, I went through and formatted these PDFs into two 5.5" x 8.5" softcover books so I can have this little bit of DC comics history on my shelves.

Copies of these books are seldom seen for sale and sell for thousands of dollars when they DO pop up (the one pictured above sold for $3K in 2018) but there are PDFs to be found, out there.

The resulting "DC Implosion" resulted in he cancelation of a number of books, many tiles ending in unresolved cliffhangers and most of which had already been in the process of production.

Much of this unpublished work was printed in the 2-book CANCELLED COMICS CAVALCADE, only for DC employees.

Back in 1978, DC comics went through what's become known as the "DC Explosion" where, in an attempt to regain market shares lost to Marvel, DC began a massive publishing initiative which ultimately failed.

#DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN spoilers (without, you know, actually spoiling anything).

Read Brubaker's run.

The jury, as they say, is still out.

(Show's really good. Quite enjoying it, so far.)

I (along with the lads at @lastcomicshop.bsky.social ) had the pleasure of speaking with @kellythompson.bsky.social about her fantastic book BLACK CLOAK and I was excited for ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN. Five issues in and it does not disappoint. It's a phenomenal, fresh take on the character.

How none of you can see that the #tiktokban is just a way to make Trump look good in the eyes of a younger demographic is beyond me. I mean, look at the pop-up message!

In my office, I surround myself with things I love. That way, I don't smash my face into my work computer out of sheer fury and frustration.

For YEARS people have been saying I look like @joshgad.bsky.social I finally had a chance to put that to rest.

(Okay, we could be MAYBE cousins.)

I have more than a few "favorite characters". Pulp characters like the Green Hornet and the Shadow. Weird characters like the Question and Ragman. Horror/magic characters like Swamp Thing, John Constantine, and Dr. Fate.

And then there's Ambush Bug.

Golly, I loves me some Ambush Bug.

@neilhimself.neilgaiman.com's SANDMAN is my all-time favorite comic. I drew a sketch card or Morpheus for a client, two years ago, and he's asked me for the rest of the family. I'm happy to oblige.

I've written a ton of GREEN HORNET scripts. I don't have the rights to the Green Hornet, nor do I have ANY idea how to pitch to Dynamite (who does) so, hey! Some changes, here and there, and they're GOLDEN SCARAB scripts.

My first exposure to Paul Reubens and Pee Wee Herman was watching his comedy special, THE PEE WEE HERMAN SHOW, on HBO with my Uncle Gary.

It was 1981 and I was eight years old and, despite some of the more mildly subversive jokes going over my head, at the time, I was hooked.
