Better and simpler just get the gov’t to pay for them. The CCC say HPs are a huge win for mitigation. The gov’t self funds, it needs neither tax nor borrowing to pay for stuff. The moment the public realises this the gov’t would have to act www.bbc.co.uk/reel/video/p...

Absolutely, in fact the government has the ability to provide everyone with all essential services, it just needs to stop hiding behind Thatcher's myth of affordability. If the people, materials & resources are available, the government can always find the £s

The gov’t spends 2-3bn of new £s every day, the only exceptional thing about 20-21 was that it found 400bn of extra £s overnight and, rightly, nobody obsessed over “how are you going to pay for it?”. A gov’t with a sovereign currency doesn’t need to borrow it.

That’s what I thought but we still need 100% safe savings AND we need investment so maybe RM is suggesting that the Gov’t should provide such a “product” rather than the bookkeeping entry that current bonds represent?
