Can't believe you're so restrained in your proposed punishments!

To be fair, I think wonks would say that this is the point/ an advantage of annual taxes related to property values. e.g. encouraging people to sell up under occupied homes is half the point of it

Taxes imposed in transactions will reduce the number of transactions

Without knowing what they intended, my initial thought would be that it's (more) possible to make strategic choices that enable autonomy when it comes to green tech. With fossil fuels you either have natural resource deposits or you don't.

There’s also a more credible commitment from government that tram services will continue due to the higher capital investment.

Because busses can be changed/ rerouted more easily they’re less likely to increase nearby property values even if they offer the same service as it’s less durable.

My tinfoil hat theory is that they will reform council tax and introduce a local income tax which could be a revenue raiser.

A barrister might argue that it’s consistent with their curiously worded pledge not to increase “the basic, higher or additional rates of Income tax”

To what extent do you think this is just due to the more 'selective' sample of followers? Part of me wonders whether online communities tend towards toxicity the larger they become and that the vibe here will change if/ when more people join
