2026, the year I actually come away from the toxicity of X (twitter) and use Bluesky much more.

Going to be honest, I’m a Celeb is a massive guilty pleasure of mine this time of year.

Presentation day never felt so good. Great day, great people and a great group. Love my Invaders. ❤️

And that’s a wrap for my u12 Invaders and what a season it’s been. Proud of each and every one of these boys and the 3 missing from this photograph, to do what they’ve done this season is a magnificent achievement. Now, for a well earned rest for all of us before we go again in a few months time.

Going to be brutally honest here, the absolute worst part of running a grassroots junior team is 100% parents. I’ve genuinely seen parents behave more childish than the children.

I do however think the new format is brilliant although, does need tweaking somewhat. If you finish top of the league phase, surely you should then be playing the lowest qualifying team from the playoff games? Surely that’s the point of seedings?

I thought over the 2 legs PSG deserved to go through to be fair. They’re the most complete team we’ve played, certainly this season. Thought Robbo and Szoboszlai were terrific. We missed Trent and Mac when they went off. Ultimately we ran out of legs. I was never confident once it went to penalties.

Had a tremendous session with the reserves last night, makes such a difference when you get good numbers as they’ve really been down the last few Thursday’s.

Stepped out of my comfort zone tonight and went and coached a local u18 team. Didn’t know any of them and didn’t know anything about them. Really really good session and a fantastic group. Always nice getting some nice feedback too.

Saw a different side to the u12s today. Had to dig deep against top of the league and a really gritty performance got them the late win. So pleased and so proud of them today.

Onto the next game of the day with the men’s team and another really tough fixture.

Get up..

Saturdays don’t get much better than that..

U12s Win ✅
Holyport Reserves Win ✅
Liverpool Win ✅

Now home in the warm with a beer and the football on the box.

Bliss.

Great start to the day with the u12s putting in a fantastic performance to progress to the Semi Final. So rewarding seeing all the work at training play out on the pitch on a match day.

Finally, for the first time since December 14th.. Tomorrow is a day of football. Looking forward to seeing both teams I coach back in action. Hopefully a day of positive results and performances.

Have to say, why on earth have they scrapped replays in The FA Cup?

Tamworth denied what could have been a very lucrative tie at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium that could have shaped their club for years. Also, the experience for those players.

No coaching today with all of the football frozen off so that can only mean one thing, walks to the pub.

Really great to be back on the training pitch with my u12s tonight and a fantastic session. Their first session since 9th December and really impressed with the standards they continue to set. First game of 2025 on Saturday, looking forward to it.
