I looked up the dark souls remastered achievements, 50.1% of players never ended up beating it. 72.6% have never finished the prepare to die edition.
Prepare to die sold ~3.54 million copies.
Taking into account that 72.6%, that's roughly around 2,570,040 hollows who succumbed to the undead curse.

This line in my favorite movie, Baby Driver, is absolutely fire, and I use it on myself a lot to keep me going.
That's all it means; slow, yes, I'm a little slow at times, but I'm not in danger of having to go quickly like a getaway driver would have to be.
