That tradition is quite common in Scandinavia, predominately as the beer would finished after the harvest around then.

Overestimating the coherent logic and rational of autocrats will never work. It's meant to be an utter incomprehensible mish-mash of opposing things. it's part of the playing the ambiguity card to the fullest ( slight contrast to smaller powers -vs larger powers).

What always annoy with these things, is the people who always wanna delay the inevitable, that's gonna happen from they're actions. One half is stuck in past, and the other half is scared shitless of the future.

Muscovite identity is firmly ingrained with it's empire, without that they have nothing. They have no contribution to legal/tax reform, innovative military reforms and absolutely nothing to manufacture and agricultural. In short the empire is all they got. And absolutely nothing positive to it.

Because they think muscovy needs to be saved and stay alive. It's rather a perfect example of hoarder mentality: preserve something for emotional attachment, despite it having no rational or logical for doing so.

Of course they like to gloss over that the word rus derives from Finnic for swedes (svear) like routsi being in finnic languages for swedes. and didn't call themselves until 1723, which almost all other european nations older than them.

Forgiveness can never be earned, at best you can do is work to repairing the damages of the past. And given that lack of self-reflection is a main feature of muscovite identity, it will never happen.

Only turned them to the delusions that muscovy wasn't as big a racist and colonialist as the rest of europe, despite being in the overdrive and devoid shame for it. Be like claiming Norway had no interest in colonialism at INDP; despite most of Africa being taken other Powers.

What Europe has been afraid of all these years is to end of it's incestuous afterbirth, muscovy., a wile beast with nothing redeemable, only supported in part from Europe's family loyalty that serve's no logical or rational basis for keeping this beast alive.

Well getting rid of the liberium veto in EU would certainly prevent the types of orban to abuse. Also it kind off works like big money saver for bribing members, where you just need to bribe one instead of over half of members.
