Millions of Afghans having been returning to #Afghanistan amid crackdowns these past 2 years.
We interviewed 747 returnees.
53% received no assistance — women are especially excluded with 65% receiving no assistance vs. 49% of men.

Refugees and migrants face serious risks. Many faced violence and abandonment by smugglers. The Route is used by people fleeing war, persecution, and poverty. Congolese, Burundians, and Somalis escape conflict and violence. Comorians & Malagasy seek jobs, healthcare, or to reunite with family.

– 15% of women reported no safety risks (vs 66% of men)
– 65% of women received no aid (vs 49% of men)

📊 MMC 4Mi migrant data from people on the move has been updated with 11,000 new surveys, including ≈ 𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬 in Mauritania.
60% surveyed in Mauritania were from Senegal / Mali
➡️ 1 in 4 reported using smugglers to cross the border — despite visa-free travel.
