[Nationals, after they played.] Atsumu saw him, at the end of the hallway, leaning against a wall: his head hung low, his chest was peacefully going up and down. He was asleep. Why had his team left him all alone to sleep around? Didn't they know there were ill-intentioned guys from other teams out there, ready to pick him up and take him away? Atsumu could not allow that, so he walked over, bent on his knees, and loaded Shoyo onto his shoulder. He shifted, settling into his chest «Bakageyama...put me down....I don't like this.....» he groaned, but the way Shoyo had snuggled into Atsumu's chest told a different story. He stroked the back of his head, still carrying him, and it was that gesture that first alerted him - soon after he noticed the smell, the physical difference, and tried to jump down. He even tried to scream, but Atsumu pushed him against his shoulder, plugging his mouth. «Keep quiet. I won't do anything to ya, I just want to take ya somewhere more comfortable.» Shoyo must have been used to that sort of thing, because it took him a second to break free: he jolted in his arms and, as soon as he felt him falter, charged forward with all the strength he had, to get Atsumu off balance. Atsumu let go of him, to put his arms back and avoid the impact with the ground. Shoyo landed on his feet, shocked. «Let go of me!» he gasped, before turning and running away, or at least trying to. «Hey!» Atsumu called him back «I didn't mean to do anything to ya! Calm down!» only his height allowed him to catch him, because Shoyo was fast. He pulled away the arm Atsumu had taken hold of him, now more frightened than before. «Let go of me!» he repeated, pulling away. As a result, Atsumu pulled him by his other arm as well, holding him in place. «Calm down. I didn't want to do anything to ya. I saw ya sleeping and thought I'd take you over to the couches so you could be more comfortable. I didn't want to wake ya up.» he explained himself, more coherently now. Shoyo was still quite frightened, to say the least. «I.....thank you for the thought, just....» he sighed, aborting the sentence he wanted to say «Please just let go of me? You're hurting me.» «Sorry!» he quickly let go of him «I'm not used to people yer size. No, wait, that sounds bad.» «It can't be worse than picking me up while I'm asleep!» Shoyo protested, perhaps it was encouragement. Surely Atsumu took it as encouragement. «No, I say, ya're.....small. In a cute way. Like a little dog or something, I swear it's a compliment. Ya're small in such a cute way that I want to pick ya up. It's a compliment.» he insisted. Shoyo wa speechless. He nodded, bewildered: he didn't even feel angry, rather he was really confused! «Okay. Don't do that again, please. I don't like it.» «You said that earlier in your sleep, too» Atsumu recalled «Ya thought I was Kageyama. No, Bakageyama.» he chuckles, at the nickname. When he says it, it doesn't sound so assholey to him, but now that Atsumu says it, it does sound like an asshole nickname. Atsumu doesn't have the same right as Shoyo, who gets called " dumbass" at least every three sentences, so it sounds mean when he says it. «Don't call him that. I certainly don't call you 'Tsumu.» «Ya could» Atsumu offered «if ya want. My friends can call me whatever they want.»
