We can rest, we can have clear boundaries, but we cannot “do nothing” in the face of deep oppression. Our ancestors’ sacrifices are worth more than that.

I had to explain to someone today that I am not required to take care of people I did not birth in at work. Some folks out here still trying to “mammify” Black women in the work place. It’s WHY I do the type of research I do - to interrupt the shenanigans. I will not. I will protect my peace.
