My mom died in 2020 from stage four lung cancer. Her name was Jayne. The J in MJ is for her. She would have been proud of the fact I'm trying to do this author thing. She loved shitty wine, the Cubs, and her three idiot kids.

The amazing news: I got offered my first adjunct professor job fresh out of my grad school program. To say I am excited is an understatement.

At minimum 20 bucks mostly! She is very small, very demure. You wouldn't even notice her on that big plane!

It's a nice balance working on it alongside the high magic fantasy novellas.

Some #WIPWEDNESDAY time! Page one of my Anita Blake/Dresden Files inspired "surprise, monsters are real on the 21st century" but make it queer manuscript I didn't lose earlier this week!

The good news: I found the file containing roughly 30K words of a manuscript I thought I lost and would have cried over.
The bad news: I'm gonna go ahead and spend the rest of the day digitally reorganizing instead of writing.

Editing a pre-gradschool manuscript for the first time since graduation. While I am so glad that I learned a lot and really got in tune with my voice and craft, I do not love how much I'm just rewriting. Perfectionism is a curse.

I expected to read a well researched #QueerRomance when I finally picked up Cat Sebastian's "You Should Be So Lucky". 1960s, would probably hurt because of what it was like to be gay in that time. I didn't expect to have why I love baseball so beautifully put.
