Interesting (NB possibly only for me) to see that online sales were doing so well for me, even in those days when the whole web was held together with enthusiasm and STRING.

I had to do some INTERWEB ARCHEOLOGY to find some of these graphs - all praise as ever to the wonderful people at @archive.org !

We watched a whole André Rieu special last Christmas after years of being told to by The Man - it made BBC Christmas specials from the 1970s (the ones they don't repeat now) look avant garde and edgy. One was enough, but good luck if you boxset it!

I've always thought it's a weird choice, as G C D means you can cover about 80% of all the good songs, and if you stick Em in too then you that's 99% sorted. Everything else is literally jazz.

I'm glad I checked before saying exactly this - really good book and written over 25 years ago too so Surprisingly Prescient!

The weirdest/BLEAKEST chart is the one for Top Thirteen Venues one - at least 8 of those 13 don't exist as venues anymore!

If you flick ahead in the blogs you'll see several pages of STATS follow, with lots of weirdly LOW numbers for Number Of Gigs. It would be a while yet before I entered my TOURING period of 50+ gigs a year!

Also, amazingly, members.tripod.com/~MJHibbett still exists! It's got a whole lot of dodgy adverts on it, but it's still got the redirect image I put up over 20 years ago!

As you can see, it has grown somewhat over the years, and now contains loads of gig details too, along with a slightly terrifying SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY SEVEN songs!! I didn't write ALL of them, but certainly MOST!

For the first couple of years of the website I had the lyrics and annotations for songs stored on specific webpage, but later realised it'd be much better to set up a proper system for listing them. So was born THE DATABASE OF ROCK!
