I only hope that any retaliation is judiciously targeted. They don’t “hate us for our freedom”, as W said. Actions like this that our leaders take in OUR name is why “they” hate us.

In the case of the Trumps’ AI company, they are saying they’ll build their own nuclear plant to generate electricity. The NRC is likely to rubber-stamp and fast-track the approval.

We shouldn’t subsidize their use of electricity and water. Throttle it and let them find their own sources - desalinization plants for water, for instance.

History shows us that it always comes down to a battle for resources. Nations once fought wars over salt. Then there’s been competition for oil, gold, tobacco, and - always - labor.

We should not subsidize our own obsolescence.

One very important thing we should do immediately is to i regulate the resources that AI “farms” use.

Our electricity rates are shooting up because of the amount of energy that the huge amounts of computers require. They also require a tremendous amount of water.
