Selesnya human counters is a very strong archetype that benefits from two piles of cards at once, and this is a very good commander for it (Caradora maybe edges him out powerwise, but this gentleman is much cooler otherwise)

On the plus side, some of the Amano art cards are much cheaper than their normal prints. I picked up a Tymna the Weaver for like $20 for non-cEDH reasons and that kind of rules.

Agreed that the flavor mismatches were pretty brutal though.
