Day 72: 689 words. I did some rewriting and extending of a particular chapter that I felt was too short. Tomorrow, we begin part three of the book, where we will start the final portion of rising action before reaching the climax of the story.

Day 71: 789 words. Great news, I didn't have to delete a sizeable chunk of text today. Even better news, we have crossed 75%! I think a round of applause is warranted. We've earned it. Pat yourself on the back for helping me hype up this journey!

Day 70: 689 words (742, but I deleted a chunk of text that made no sense). Tomorrow we will hit 75%, unless I delete another large swath of text, which may happen. I'm almost done with the setups, and will soon start the payoffs of the book.

Day 69: 1434 words. Well, I didn't hit my goal of 3000; I got about halfway there, and that's alright. We will reach 75% completion by tomorrow or the day after. The finish line is approaching; it's within sight, but it may move forward or backward a bit. Progress is progress!
January 8, 2026 at 10:04 PM
Day 68: 934 words. If I can knock out three thousand words tomorrow (I know it seems unlikely), we will hit 75% complete. I spent today expanding a couple of chapters, because I didn't think they were told to my best ability. I'll do the same again tomorrow.

Day 67: 1065 words. Oh, did I have a blast writing today! Here is something I wrote.
January 7, 2026 at 1:19 AM
Day 66: 708 words. We hit 70%! I'm happy about that. We might start writing the climax next week, if everything goes as planned. Hopefully, the ten years I've spent thinking about these events will make it amazing.
January 5, 2026 at 10:36 PM
Day 65: 828 words. 70% tomorrow! We've come a long way, and I am proud of it. I'm starting to wonder if I might actually go over my goal. There is still so much I have to write, but I don't know if I can do it in 30k words.
January 4, 2026 at 10:48 PM
Day 64: 1040 words. Tomorrow we'll hit 69%, which means there is a chance we'll cross over 75% by the end of my weekend.
January 3, 2026 at 10:20 PM
Day 63: 1009 words. I started slow today, but got there in the end.
January 2, 2026 at 10:27 PM
Day 62: 1000 words. I didn't plan on hitting 1000 today. I was only going to go for 500, but obviously, I'm okay with the word flow I was blessed with. I could have written more if my nemesis, sleep, hadn't gotten in the way.
January 1, 2026 at 9:54 PM
Day 61: 2391 words. I think it's fitting to tie the year up with a good, successful session. It may have taken me all day (thanks to the word haze [writer's block]), but I wasn't doing anything anyway.
January 1, 2026 at 4:37 AM
Day 60: 609 words. I'm going to get some sleep, and when I wake up, I'm going to work on this book until the battery in my laptop dies. I wrote something today that tied a lot of storylines together, and I am very excited to work on it. I'm still building to the climax, but things make sense now.
December 31, 2025 at 12:56 AM
Day 59: 769 words. Well, I did a little better today, and hopefully I can know out quite a bit over my weekend. If I hit 65% before the new year, that'd be awesome. I'm currently 62.5%, so it is doable. Guess we'll find out.
December 29, 2025 at 11:07 PM
Day 58: 402 words. This week is kicking my butt. I wish I had more time, but things keep coming up, preventing me from further progress. Hopefully, the new year will give me a break. I need to remind myself that progress is progress.
December 28, 2025 at 10:36 PM
Day 57: 517 words. I know I said I would shoot for 1000 words today, but external circumstances prevented me from writing my full amount of time (I keep falling asleep. My long shift at work probably carries some blame). I'll try again tomorrow. We still made progress, and that's what counts.
December 27, 2025 at 10:38 PM
Day 56: 728 words. I'll go for a thousand tomorrow. The chapter I'm working on seemed to have hit a speed bump, so I had to do some reworking, which took some time to figure out.
December 26, 2025 at 10:05 PM
Day 55: 604 words. Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays. I spent the day with my family and only wrote for about an hour today. I'll be back at it tomorrow. We attained 60k today, and that's where I wanted to be, so we are still on track!
December 26, 2025 at 5:54 AM
Day 54: 2032 words. That's right...over 2000. I didn't have access to my internet today, so it's obvious what I worked on. To be honest, I wanted to reach 60k today. I didn't make it, but I'm within the realm. 500 words away. That means we are basically at 60% complete.
December 25, 2025 at 4:06 AM
Day 53: 887 words. I hope to gain some ground over the weekend. Maybe not this one, but the next one. One day, I'll knock out 2000 words, and it'll be great. Today, however, I have to go to bed.
December 24, 2025 at 12:55 AM
Day 52: 553 words. I was distracted by a box I got in the mail today. It was filled with my book Gar the Great and the Christmas Intruder. It was nice adding it to my shelf.
December 22, 2025 at 10:26 PM
Day 51: 965 words. We are 56% of the way through. By the end of the month, we should be pretty close to 66% (hopefully more). In a few weeks, I'll be releasing the first chapter of this book to my newsletter. You won't want to miss it, so be sure to sign up.

Day 50: 914 words. I honestly can't believe I've written every day for 50 days. My first novel took 6 years, my second took 2 years this one is only going to take me 3 months. If that isn't something to be proud of, I don't know what is.

Here is something I wrote today.
December 20, 2025 at 10:16 PM
Day 49: 1030 words. It's always fun writing a conceited character. His ego will be the death of him, and the best part is he won't see it coming.
December 19, 2025 at 10:05 PM
Day 48: 1100 words. My cat hid in his 'secret' hiding place while I worked today. It was probably because of the rain outside, but I liked to think it was because I was typing up a storm.
