For all you haters I finally found an LLM that chokes on replace double quotes with single quotes in a file. Smh. It’s this kind of stuff that genuinely gives the AI haters and doubters some proof, that yes, even AI fails on the dumbest tasks sometimes.

I think the only good way to decide which tabs to close on the browser is to rage quit all but the necessary five I still have pinned!

Having that great feeling from successfully provisioning and deploying a NextJS app to AWS EC2 (Ubuntu 24) and CDN backed by S3, and everything just works. **Takes a sip of favorite beverage, sighing in accomplishment.** Cheers to devops and automating all the things 🎉🥳🤩 Now off to spin up MongoDB!

Who remembers the Konami Code? Feeling nostalgic and thinking of adding it to a web app I’m building. I love playing some Contra written in TypeScript!

Fun times with Claude Sonnet 4 making this very special landing page in two minutes or so for my users that try to visit my CDN root directory:

Really impressed by Claude Sonnet ability to answer a simple QA about how to devops all the things

Please stop trying to make vibe-coding a thing. Learn to use AI tools and such for sure, but that buzzwordy phrase makes my even my daughter cringe

Having trouble concentrating on a great YouTube video to learn a new technology because the presenter uses double quotes, arrow function with single argument but no parentheses, and asi (automatic semicolon insertion) in TypeScript. Congrats on doing it the hard and inconsistent way dude. #peeves

Anyone else wish that the H in GitHub was lowercase? #GitHub

I'm so down with buying coffee for people like Subham Goyal. They make very useful software for generating unique names. I wish more package maintainers would use some donation-ware like buymeacoffee.com

I know people who have done both and succeeded equally. I don’t even like to say I’m self taught, because I’ve had a few mentors over the years, read books (so authors were my teachers), watched videos, took online courses, and imitated what I could find on the web and GitHub.

I often think I hear writing on a hard drive, but it's really just a coke zero fizzing, bubbling, and popping next to my keyboard.

Remember when you could tell how badly something was taxing your computer by the sounds it made on the *hard* drive?

Chrome now regularly occupies nearly 20 GB of RAM. I hoard tabs. I use tab groups too. I @pinboard.bsky.social to bookmark all the things at pinboard.in/u:mkelley33.

New song teaser! Song and video drops Wednesday! Its a collab with Ceschi! Surf Rock Anthem (lofi study beats remix). It's not a remix of a song, just a song that has remix in the title. Lol.

Vinyls, shirts, and tapes on the Bandcamp still!

TIL: you can type npm urn storybook, and it just works. Yes, urn, not run.

Hacking a @hackerrank.bsky.social problem well after my bedtime. This is worse than video games. I won’t spend a single hacko towards a solution. Feels wrong and obstinate, but I have my pride tucked away somewhere around here.

Please! I’d be curious to see what you came up with. Thanks

Writing accessible HTML can be challenging, but using tools like Google Lighthouse and ESLint plugin eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y make doing so much easier!

I swear that eye drops are made such that you have to buy more to keep your eyes happy. I think my eyes were happier before eye drops and much happier before contact lenses.
