I see your point on patronage, I’m not quite sure how we get to informed vs mindless or what that distinction looks like in practice. Low info investors naturally selecting into CDs is also unintuitive to me. A lot to chew on, appreciate your engaging.

Why do the powers that be have more of an incentive to stabilize/stim equities when retail is invested passively vs say thru actively managed mutual funds? Or is the thru line that Tsy allocations & equity cost of capital should both be higher (and why is this good)?

Personally amenable to this argument but this is not a politically durable outcome in 2025.
