I am still at a loss to understand what I’m missing, why new games run so well and yet 10-15 years old games lag and stutter so miserably with all Nvidia drivers after version 552.44.
It’s been half a year since the last attempt (and fiasco). And so, once again its time to try that most risky and unstable upgrade in modern time. The upgrade of my Nvidia graphics driver…

Kind of annoying to get the constant popup notifications that something in #Microsoft #Authenticator is about to be discontinued and I’m supposed to migrate to #Edge? I’m using #Safari, I don’t want to move to Edge, do I need to move to #Google Authenticator?

So, hmm, new version of @Steam crashes and burns, then asks to restart the entire #Steam client, hangs on restart and just goes dead on me? I can't remember this happening for years? Decades? Something's seriously wrong since Windows #Defender also goes 100% CPU at the same time

I finally got around to finish the last two episodes in the #MassEffect trilogy, and noticed I still have some 40 achievements left. Question is whether to replay them all now, or save it for another 5-10 years? Probly the latter.

I can't really find any good logs either. No files are changed, no windows logs, and I'm not sure where in the appdata folder any useable logs would be since those in the #onedrive folder says me nothing on what's going on except it seems to be a new version with lots of updates
I will probably let it finish syncing and then just restore all files from a separate clean backup and resync them again. I guess it'll take a bit of bandwidth and power for a few days, but I can't have untrusted files that have potentially been unwantedled modified by #onedrive
I let the PC run for 6 hours during the night and now its down to processing about 180000 files from the total of 250000, and still I can't see it doing anything.

Or rather, all feed activity is also missing. Guessing the whole Steamcommunity has some kind of problem?

Imagine if #NVIDIAGeForce let you have two driver sets installed and gave the option to choose on startup.
a) The driver that really works, smooth graphics, no stuttering or
b) The driver that fails on 99 out of your 100 games, but is required by this single new game.
