But seriously, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. There are countless niches where it just works really well. I'm working on a project right now where we use vision models

Finally had a chance to look at nvidia announcement about the Spark & you seem to have your eye on the wrong ball, its clearly the DGX *Station* that is aimed at running top tier coding models for software devs, not the spark which looks outclassed by yesteryears m2 max studios even.

No idea what you're talking about in your other posts TBH & sure I didn't need more than 3gen ago AMD+32gb laptop for anything I did inc mobile app dev (notoriously cpu/ram hungry) *until* the current crop of coding LLMs showed up. what can I say, times change.

Open src is good, but why expect the hardware to be free or even cheap? As I just pointed out to Ed, Unix workstations used to cost ~a small car, if that's what it takes to run high end LLM needed to do SWE work in 2025 then that's that. Do you expect earthworks contractor to turn up with a shovel?

why does it have to be a home server? why not just pay for whatever server in a nearby data centre that you need to run the model you need? you know like those contractors that do work out in your neighbourhood everyday that had to buy/lease $10ks of equipment to do *their* day jobs...
