I am a huge fan of Umberto Eco's works. Not only was he a talented fiction writer, but he was also a distinguished academic and scholar. His book *How to Write a Thesis* was a huge help in writing my dissertation and learning how to be a researcher. I cannot recommend it enough!

It's been two months since I started my position as a postdoc and phonetics lab director at the University of Washington. So far, it has been amazing, and I love the fantastic team of faculty and students I get to work with in the linguistics department.

Unbelievably racist video, but of the 30 seconds, about half of it is claiming that Latinos (not specifically immigrants, even) are "too stupid" to speak English. English-only and English-superiority narratives are a bedrock of this regime's racism. They know nothing about how language works.
