The Gambia known as the “The Smiling Coast of Africa” which is due to its friendly and smiling people. Is an obvious promise of warm weather.

The avifauna of the Gambia include a total of 621 species, two of which have been introduced. The country, which is very small and almost completely surrounded by Senegal, has no endemic species.

Kachikally Crocodile Pool
The crocodile pool and museum are enclosed within 6 acres of local tropical forest which has remained relatively untouched for over 400 years. The foot paths that meander through the forest are almost the only part of the ground that is easily visible

Archaeologists believe the stone circles are burial sites constructed about 1200 years ago. Each stone weighs several tonnes and is between 1m (3.3ft) and 2.5m (7.5ft) in height There's a small bt well-presented museum with exhibits discussing the possible origins of the circles.

Kunta Kinteh Island formerly called James Island and St Andrew's Island is an island in the Gambia River, 30km(19 mi) from the river mouth and near Juffureh in the Republic of the Gambia. Fort James is located on the island. It is less than 3.2 km(2 miles) from Albreda on the river's northern bank.
