C’est un travail important car, dans le contexte de la seconde guerre mondiale, la perte des documents n’est pas dû qu’aux aléas du temps, mais à un désir conscient d’effacement de populations et des crimes qui ont été commis. C’est pourquoi nous souhaitons le mettre aujourd’hui en avant.

On parle ici de ce cas car, si la recherche de Lost Media est liée à internet et désigne le plus souvent des médias audiovisuels, elle cherche aussi à retrouver ce qui n’a pas été bien archivé dans le web. Donc, elle rejoint les historiens et archivistes qui veulent retrouver des documents perdus.

En octobre dernier le mémorial de Neuengamme (ancien camps de concentration situé à Hambourg) a retrouvé des photos de la déportation des juifs de Hambourg. Pendant plus de 80 ans, ils pensaient n’en avoir aucune.

This is an important work, especially in the context of the Second World War, where the loss of documents was not only due to the vagaries of time, but also to a conscious desire to erase entire populations and the crimes that were committed against them. That is why we wish to highlight it today.

Last October, the Neuengamme Memorial (a former concentration camp located in Hamburg) found photos of the deportation of Jews from Hamburg. For more than 80 years, they thought they had none.
