Midges used to be a once-a-year thing but this year they keep coming back. I read that it means the lake (Erie) is really clean? Is this the beginning of a horror movie storyline? I’ve been running from my house to my car to avoid being covered with them, they’ll land on anything.

Often patrons who see the flowers I bring to work are told that Amy at the Info Desk grows them.
Yesterday a senior patron asked if I was The Flower Lady, then called to her husband, “Come here, honey, I found her!” He gave me a long look & said “You’re a lot younger than I thought you’d be.” 😄

A few days ago we spent an hour on a “Hawk Walk” at Ireland’s School of Falconry leaning about falconry and spending some time with the smart, amazing birds who live there, including Jabba the Harris hawk. It was pretty incredible and I highly recommend it if you visit the Galway area.

[checking into our new accommodation in Ireland]: “I have a reservation, the first name is Amy—“
Desk guy interrupts, looks at me over the top of his glasses: “So it’s *you* who’s been causing all the trouble here this week.” 😬
(Amy is not a common name here)

It’s so rainy & windy in Galway that the Cliffs of Moher have closed, businesses on the water have sandbags out, & moss growing on stone buildings is being blown off.
DH: “The best way to deal with Storm Amy is to make her a cocktail & leave her alone to watch a British murder mystery show.” 🙄

“The sea was angry that day, my friends - like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli.”
At the 600 foot high Cliffs of Moher and they’re completely socked in by fog/mist 🤷🏼♀️
