New update to Slingshot, my SystemVerilog LSP, has dropped! This is a more minor one: it adds support for completing module instantiations, and importantly fixes a number of deadlocks and race conditions. Upgrading is strongly recommended. enjoy~ […]

It's about sustainability too. #curl is a small project. We cannot spend multiple hours every day arguing with people who want money for having found what is perhaps a bug - but often is not even that.

It drains us. It drowns us.

Onward and upward!

Slingshot's graph-based indexing system is now fully functional and released! Give it a spin for yourself: https://github.com/mattyoung101/slingshot/releases/tag/v1.1.0 :3

#systemverilog #lsp #foss
Slingshot, my SystemVerilog LSP, is getting close to *full* dependency graph support as part of its indexing system! this will hopefully make indexing much faster and more stable in very large projects :blobcat:

here it is being tested with the Ibex RISC-V CPU:

saw this quote from Wendy Carlos, the famous pioneering electronic musician, who is also trans (via Wikipedia):

> In 1985, Carlos spoke about the reaction to her transition: "The public turned out to be amazingly tolerant or, if you wish, indifferent ... There had never been any need of this […]

greetings everyone! i'm very happy to announce v1.0.0 of Slingshot, my SystemVerilog language server, based on Slang!

note: please consider this BETA quality software; it shouldn't crash, but it's written in C++ so you never really do know... please, feel free to evaluate in your projects and […]

hello people, an old person question:

does anyone have any good washing machine recommendations?

I have finally reached the point in my life when I get to buy one 😌 but they seem to have crammed AI into every washing machine now lmao

for me this is an exciting time because it's fully committing to my identity and how *I* want to look instead of worrying "what if I change my mind" or "what will other people think" :D

All this is to say, by GOD is it such a night and day difference between "cargo build" and "oh sweet we'll just cache that" to the absolute Lovecraftian nightmare that is C++ dependency management. And all this is merely thanks to building the language *with dependency management in mind* […]

Unfortunately it seems that the solution to package managing in C++ is still CMake FetchContent and basically manually vendoring your entire dependency tree and building it from scratch every time.

I think it's still an open problem and maybe completely unsolvable (!!!) to have a reliable […]

Moving away from Conan, the C++ package manager. It's immensely frustrating because it was *almost* a functional solution to package managing a language and ecosystem that is extremely antagonistic to any reasonable form of dependency management. If your packages are available in Conan Central […]
