Breaking: Harvard's response to the government's threat of withholding research grants to exert control over universities 👇

Research grants are not political weapons. The stakes are not abstract: Every $ withheld is a delayed cure, a patient or family left behind.

"None of this is to say that Mr. Trump shouldn’t have the opportunity to govern. Seventy-seven million Americans cast ballots to put Mr. Trump back in the White House... But is this unconstitutional overhaul of the American government... really what those voters signed up for?"

Tariffs will not solve the opioid epidemic, instead they will raise the cost of living for millions of Americans driving more to financial insecurity, which incidentally is one of the key causes of addiction. #tariffs #opioids #addiction #publichealth #politics

The removal of #HIV- and #LGBTQ-related resources from the websites of CDC and other health agencies is deeply concerning.

Access to this information is crucial for ID and HIV health care professionals.

There should be no debate among rational people that a sitting president editing the constitution by executive order is entirely unconstitutional.

If your Christianity causes you to be offended by someone asking the most powerful person in the country to be merciful towards the powerless, then you have profoundly misunderstood the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Attorneys general from 18 states sued to block an executive order by President Trump that seeks to deny citizenship to babies born to unauthorized immigrants in the U.S. The states view Trump’s attempt to limit birthright citizenship as “extraordinary and extreme.” nyti.ms/3E2qr53

Trump "thinks" that he "might" or "may" impose tariffs on "some" imports; is it just me or is it dawning on him that tariffs aren't the silver bullet to save all economic woes and he is trying to soften expectations?
Trump Promises Tariffs on Canada and Mexico, and Paves Way for Further Trade Action
The president said he planned to put tariffs on America’s neighbors on Feb. 1, as he signed an executive order mandating a sweeping review of U.S. trade policy.

It's insane to me that in today's Washington Marco Rubio is a moderate who was unanimously confirmed as secretary of state.

I'm not even upset; I'm actually somewhat relieved as Rubio is not floridly insane and unqualified, unlike some other cabinet appointees.

This man (and no doubt many of his followers) believe that by signing a piece of paper he can just shred the U.S. Constitution that he and his followers so vehemently think they protect. Spoiler alert: he can't!

"That's a big one," Trump says as he signs an executive order defining birthright citizenship. The president cannot change the Constitution on his own, but Trump has made it clear he wants to deny birthright citizenship, which is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment, to the children of noncitizens.

Sometimes when I get spam calls, I like to practice my Spanish. I just got one from the Maine Republican Party and said "Lo siento, yo no hablo Ingles. ¿Estás llamando por mi cheque de bienestar?" The caller seemed frustrated and hung up quickly!
