Specific genetic types of MND are very rare, meaning that those who could benefit from certain specialised drugs, e.g. Tofersen for SOD1-MND, could face the same challenges of drug access as those with 'rare diseases’.

The MHRA has granted marketing authorisation for tofersen, a new drug for the treatment of SOD1 MND

Alongside @mndassoc.bsky.social & @mndscotland.bsky.social, we welcome the approval of the first treatment for MND in the UK in over 30 years
