Clear Lake’s former employees are charged with stealing $200K, much of it through misuse of the city credit cards. Another example of the necessity of effective safeguards on local government credit card use.

MN State Auditor finds 30% of Byron Public Schools’ P-Card spending lacked required receipts, and gift cards were improperly purchased.

P-cards can be useful, but without strict controls, they become a big risk for misuse.

Auditor Julie Blaha released the 2024 Asset Forfeitures and Forfeiture Expenditures Report, which shows that law enforcement agencies reported 3,506 completed forfeitures last year — down 9% from 2023.

Today, Auditor Julie Blaha announced she will not seek re-election.

Since 2019, she has strengthened oversight, modernized audits, and protected local control. She will continue serving through January 2027, leaving the OSA strong and ready for the future.

Minnesota State Auditor Julie Blaha released a statement regarding the school shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. “As a former middle school math teacher, I know classrooms should be a safe place for learning and growth. Today, that place of safety was violated. The loss at Annunciation Catholic School is devastating. The trauma experienced by students, families, and educators will last far beyond this day. My heart is with the students, families, educators, first responders, and community members who are enduring the unimaginable.”
