Reading Red Scare: Blacklists, McCarthyism, and the Making of Modern America, and I'm stuck by this: Margaret Chase Smith, Maine senator, appeals to the Republican party to avoid "Four Horsemen of calumny--fear, ignorance, bigotry, and smear." This is the Republican legacy.

The Three Percenters, apparently an anti-tyranny militia group, don't seem to want to say much about tyranny these days. It seems they'd rather stick with the fascists. They only want to overthrow governments that aren't racist, misogynist, and corrupt.
