Misery in a Trench Coat

Banner is by James Ryman for MtG, though nowadays I play FaB instead. Resident Slippy enjoyer, currently playing DIO and Iyslander

Brazenly pro-found family. Trans rights, free Palestine, break your chains and never stop fighting
My take on the current debate: LL is a good format, and I hope support for it stays around in a higher capacity than there will be next year (based on stuff from keynote). It needs more work, but a lot of us would agree that it was pretty fun to watch this weekend, and I had a blast playing it

I brought malort instead

Tbh I’ve played so many classes recently that the thought never occurred to me lol. Draft enjoyers will hopefully really like it though - my cube is inspired by HVY design (3 classes, 2 heroes with distinct draft archetypes each)

Making a cube from the starting point of approachability sounds like the perfect way to go about it tbh, hope people love it!

I hadn’t thought of that comment though, and I hope I don’t encounter it a ton personally but mine has 3 classes represented so I should probably expect it huh

Wish I could have my cube ready for worlds, but no dice. It would’ve been a great time getting the first reps in on it on the trip but this just means I have something to do when I get back

What was the inspiration behind this one?

I’m literally in the middle of this process this is so appreciated

I drew some crazy hands, but seeing that many cards per turn has me wondering what I’ve been missing. DIO’s been on my short list of heroes who I think perfected their class’s design up to their release, but I’ve never played her. That may have been a mistake, which I’ll be happy to correct

Yes, though the important difference is that if it has to be 3 attacks in a row hitting, flick knives wouldn’t keep mask alive anymore when an attack is blocked out

Yes! I have a list for this idea as well, and I’m so excited to see someone else trying it. Mine is in need of work but the dream is real haha

Enigma any day. Imagine if gravy could block when you attacked wailer

I’ve yet to play Verdance (just finished assembling a more arcane focused version) but I’ve been playing Iyslander in LL as of late. I like ice as a necessary evil, but they really need to figure out a new thing for the talent to do. Frostbites feel way too polarizing

Yeah I can see where you’re coming from. At least RKO doesn’t have an OTK combo package and just the kill range bully tactics gives, though it’s too easy to pitch stack that

Idk, I’m gonna keep trying to manually remake Slippy with him though. If only the reviled 3+ auras package was good on him…

With how things are going with Verdance, I worry about how RKO will be perceived in 6 months. We’ll see if the block-happy life gain build stays the most popular way to play the hero though, as I’m not convinced it’s the better route to keeping higher life total than just sending damage

I took him to one so far and will take him to a second later this month. Totally not jealous of that EA and marvel lol

For tomorrow’s PQ, probably an important detail there hahaha

Should I make my hair into the 2010’s emo thing in honor of this post

…This is my brain telling me to go to bed lmao

Me, staying up until 3 AM: “it’s not a phase this is just who I am!”

RKO is a hero that I feel every game teaches for specifically that hero. Not to mention the ability to focus on tempo or numbers/value in deck construction. For me anyway it’s felt like learning the game all over again, imo that 0-2 is just growing pains lol

Glad attendance is still good!
