Isn’t it amazing we were taught by church leaders not to lie, not to steal, not to commit adultery on a regular basis growing up, but it went out the window as irrelevant with church leaders (not all of them, but many) when this evil man came along?

The great thing about nachos is you can add any protein to them (in addition to the obligatory cheese) and create your own magic.

Looking good. It’s that time of year. Made three cauldrons of soup over the past couple weeks - French onion, ham and bean, and Tuscan kale with sausage. Leftovers went into the freezer for cold nights.
But tonight was mahi-mahi nachos.

We looked into dual citizenship with Croatia for us and our grown children before the election (feeling a sense of dread). But our grown children both have commitments to help aging in-laws and can’t leave.
We halted the process, but could resume if circumstances become dire.

I have also been thinking this for the last decade.
What if Dobson, Graham, and other influential names had said “this is not what Christ teaches” when the “All Mexicans are rapists, Obama is a birther” and the misogynistic statements were made?
What a difference it could have made. Yes, alas.

The cruelty directed towards people considered “lesser than” for the last 10 years, coupled with silence from so many church leaders and the implicit approval by church members, is something I will never comprehend for the rest of my life.

I certainly hope you’re correct. He won in Virginia by claiming CRT was rampant in public schools, then in his first month of office he established a “snitch line” to report public school teachers. That didn’t go well.

Those pesky demographic statistics and voting results in Virginia may want to have Mike Johnson take a second look at his chances in his re-election bid in Louisiana.

Same here. We actually turned the news on this morning without a feeling of dread. Not only did Virginia sweep the Gov, Lt Gov, and AG positions, a number of positions were flipped from GOP to Dem in the VA House of Delegates.
People are fed up with the lies and hate.
