I pulled this data together at work a couple of days ago to write something to encourage our staff about vaccination. I was digging through a lot of stuff, but I believe this is CDC data I found and plotted. I'm sorry I don't have a direct link to the data set.

Here are pediatric influenza deaths by season. Last season was the highest on record outside of pandemic (H1N1 in 09-10). This is MORE evidence of the immune damage we are doing to kids with COVID. I think this will get much worse.I think this will get much worse.

7- I was interviewed by the Navy out of grad school and had a perfect score on my interview. Old sports injuries were the only thing that kept me from becoming an officer. It's part of the reason I got into federal disaster medicine as a way to serve.

4- Back in 2013, I wrote an analysis of the spread of influenza due to the response to Hurrican Sandy on ProMed. Someone at the Pentagon asked for my permission to use it in the Daily Brief for the Joint Chiefs to have them think about force protection. It made me proud.

Pro tip: Given that RFK Jr has made the Advisory Committee of Immunization Practices a freak show, you may want to get the most recent COVID booster tomorrow or Friday. I suspect they will make them much harder to get.
