I think it's less about that and more about showing a willingness push back. I understand they might have had very legitimate reasons but apart from the fact that we receive nothing this again shows trump that he can keep making demands all he has to do is wait & they'll eventually cave

Reason for this is that this might deter people from signing up potentially depowering Trump's army. Sueing would get names addresses & sue them till they're left with nothing so those who are hoping for a payday are taking a huge risk.
