I will never understand what makes bands think that using AI slop as their backdrop during live shows is a good idea.

Heldigvis leverte både Schnodig og Strikkland til de grader.

Mørketid _og_ formdupp for favorittlaget samtidig er røfft for psyken. Heldigvis er det retro/dunkel/sint synthmusikk på en av de lokale scenene i kveld.

Author & Punisher, damn. That was like watching a warmech marching on a battlefield. Absolutely crushing live set.

I'm not usually a person who listens toa lot of ambient/experimental/noise, but lately I've been to a couple of shows that fit that bill. And I've really enjoyed those shows. There's something that comes through when performed, that recorded material just doesn't give me.

@derw-lang.com You wouldn't happen to have the numbers for this, would you? Be interesting to see the differences.

Sometime the big mainstream festival in my hometown (Øya) books something for their afterhours programme that really tickles my fancy. This year that was ULTRA SUNN. And wow did they deliver!

I remember doing a paper on Ozzy, and specifically this song, back in '02 when I was 13. Ozzy got me into metal and gave me a life-long love for music. RIP

Finding a local brewery's taproom, plopping down by a table with some refreshing liquid, and writing post cards. Easily one of the most enjoyable parts of any adventure.

It's the first day of summer vacation, it's also a friday. Seems a good a day as any to post some recommendations for fresh new music.

(Just a fair warning, my tastes are a little all over the place.)

It's 7AM, so apologies to my neighbours. But I had to. 🥀

It's on days like these I notice how much of an impact football has on my well-being. Say what you will, but few things come close to watching your team take a victory from an, on paper, superior opponent.

Watched this video essay on science shows. Had never heard of Car Talk (probably because non-american), but that sounded like such a stellar show. Would have loved to listen to something like this growing up.

I just love it when I randomly stumble upon a track with the perfect bpm for the pace I'm moving at.

Sometimes it's funeral doom, other times it's hardstyle. Either way, still love it.

Caught a Castle Rat show, and wow that was fun. It was pure 80s sword & sorcery camp, and I loved every second of it. The music was heavy and groovy, scratching that itch in way only only trad doom can.

Didn't know I needed a slowed down, thunderous doom metal cover of Britney's Toxic. But apparently I did. And it was glorious.

Tip for conference speakers: never apologise for your content being too hard or too easy or too weird or too boring or whatever. The audience came to your talk. Assume they’re interested and can take it.

I get all warm and fuzzy whenever I see concatenative programming show up at a conference. Even if it gets reduced to a meme about stack-fiddling, completely missing the properties that make them interesting.

Thanks to @olafurw.com I finally got the origin story of Tungur Knivur. This song was a huge part of my university experience, and I never actually knew the origin of the phrase 😅
