The developers of Panzer Dragoon were heavily inspired by artist Jean Giraud, aka Moebius. When it came time to create a Japanese cover, they figured it wouldn't hurt to ask Moebius himself. To their joy, he said yes.
Sega of America, in their infinite wisdom, replaced it with a generic CG cover.

I just don't get how developers will spend so many years trying to encourage immersion in the environment only for the game to act like it's afraid of uncomfortable silence. I thought it was bad in Horizon but this is METROID
