Since there's no real centralized information system in the Avatar/Korra world, you could probably basically move to a different city and keep your head down and be okay, as long as you made at least a minimum amount of effort to change your appearance.

The result (from a player's perspective) is that balancing the decision to get into a fight with the decision not to is one where you're basically trying to be clever about how you approach problem-solving, which leads to some very interesting scenarios!

Also the fact that "fatigue" is a pretty limited resource that also gets treated like your combat health pool means that combat and non-combat sort of get lumped together as "things you can do that take up your energy" - since there are a number of situations out of combat that take fatigue-

Combat in Avatar: Legends is interesting, because it very much goes with the show's vibe of having these elaborate fights that are half about what's being said or done between blows as much as the actual fighting. It took us some getting used to, but tbh it's super cool conceptually!

Interesting #TTRPG topic that came out of a comment in a server: Different systems prioritize different things, and the PbtA systems definitely emphasize social solutions in a way that DnD tends not to - hence why we have three episodes where no one gets into a fight!

For non-divine beings (since I think the Lion Turtles probably count as "god like") it would probably be the dragons. The badger moles also live an obscenely long time - probably the longest on average.

• Bamei and the pistols would survive
• Midori would get bitten while doing something poorly thought out. Bamei has to shoot her
• Fuzhou survives
• Soma survives, unless zombies can fly
• The twins die fast
• Hikaru holes up in her mansion and becomes a cannibal

Tip for the GMs and players out there;

Communication is key, both between players, and from player to GM.

If there's a problem with something a player is doing, and you need to correct it, say it.

If you are worried the story is going in a way you aren't comfortable with, say it.

Obviously not the same with a TTRPG as a video game but I think a lot of the same questions apply as far as what the abstraction is seeking to do for the story...

This is kinda like - the idea of a "turn" in TTRPGs can represent a lot of different conceptual levels of time/effort/etc.

In our system (Avatar Legends) it's the abstraction of "an exchange" i.e. a series of blows or movements or whatever that all kinda happen at once, followed by talking

Sabi: State-sponsored orphanage school. She did okay and hated every minute of it.

Chong: Taught by his parents and then received additional school in the Air Nation. The Air Nation was a hard adjustment for him.
