Welp, there's your problem. It's spreadsheets, so it's clearly the Black Speech.

Yeah, in the games your weapons conveniently disappear during the pre-hunt feast cutscenes. But still surprisingly accurate!

Have you been playing Monster Hunter?

Your subconscious seems to have constructed the experience of hunting an Aknosom as a lance/gunlance main from first principles.

They've also toned down the bundles a bit, so there's less need to keep up with them.

I did that exercise about a year ago. Trade you lists?
December 27, 2025 at 6:14 AM
Oh man, I remember the last time I ran into those during a migration from one machine to another. Best of luck!

No, the scansion doesn't quite work on "Oh the year was twenty twenty-five", does it?

Yeah, both the solutions and the required background become more complex (leading to Wikipedia ratholes on top of coding/debugging).

Still just one extra career per character, right? They haven't added any others?

I like all of them except Outcast Engineer (who is just a bit too fiddly and dependent on situational awareness).

Welp, here I go again! I think there are new maps to try since the last time I played it?

Forcing yourself to try to learn from the answer was a challenge with StackOverflow, and it's still a challenge with ChatGPT.

But people seem more inclined to use ChatGPT all the time (probably because convenience), and to trust it more (because I don't know).

Nice! I had not heard of QE, and I'd heard of High Frontier but not Leaving Earth.

Either the heavier games on your list are quite short, or you have some friends who can play heavy games quickly. My usual board game groups struggle to finish anything heavy in less than three hours.

Relevant quote from Penny Arcade today: "I haven't been bullied like this since high school and it's churning shit up."

What if the text is a product of economic incentives because the creative process was just that jacked up?
November 4, 2025 at 11:13 PM
The structure says that you have the right to bully people, and it's their problem if they can't avoid you, beat you, or accept the bullying without complaint.

That message is most transparent when players ask an existing game with optional PvP to add mandatory PvP (e.g., Elite Dangerous).

"Build a better GameSpy and offer it for free to developers" maybe belongs in there somewhere?

52 is a lot of pages. But also things like indices, glossaries, and examples can add page count by adding clarity without adding rules.

1. Time travel back to 2016.
2. Use OKCupid before they Tinderized.
3. Maybe also do some other time traveler stuff while you're there, like winning a lottery or two?

It's depressing, because it used to be bad but not as bad, and I don't know what you're supposed to do these days.
October 17, 2025 at 1:34 AM
You have not!

How to make dashboards actually useful to their target audience, including figuring out when the audience will check them, is a very hard problem.

Not just tech debt, but the tech debt equivalent of opening a new credit card for the purpose of a shopping spree.

Even if you wanted to take on some debt, you probably didn't want to do it getting those things in particular.

Especially when you don't really need that bench for anything afterward.
October 6, 2025 at 4:11 AM
Indeed it is! Your description of it echoes others I've heard; you're not alone :(.

You're also right to question whether you still even want to develop and market that skill again, separate from whether you can.
