I think this is also why I'm always disappointed when I see anti-paras in proship spaces. If you're a proshipper, I would expect you to have already worked through that knee-jerk reaction and try to rationalize things beyond that.

You have to actually think about solutions to a problem that would work. Saying "all pedos should die!!" helps no one. That would never be enforceable. Providing resources for pedophiles that decreases their chances of offending is something we can actually do.

I feel like implying they MUST is...kinda ableist, honestly? And at the end of the day, this sort of mindset helps no one. Paraphiles will always exist. Advocating for thought crimes to exist will always disproportionately target the mentally ill and queer.
