I basically only play with a group of my friends because playing with randos at my LGS is a toss up. I'd say (including me) 2-3 people in any given pod are there to have a good time and hang and 1-2 people are taking it so seriously you'd think it was a Saw trap and their family was held hostage.

All this to illustrate the point that these kinds of preaching moralistic arguments that things are bad and shouldn't exist simply because they contain sensitive subjects really hold no water with me and in fact often stand in opposition to the things they claim to stand for.

-such as drug abuse, rape, exploitative relationships, sex trafficking, etc. But she handles those topics carefully and in no way glorifies it. She shares a perspective and experience that real people have with those who may not be able to see or relate to it otherwise.

I don't know anything about this game tbh, but I do want to offer some thoughts on this person's reasoning.
There's an author, Heather O'Neill, who I was introduced to with her novel "Lullabies for Little Criminals." Its a beautiful and meaningful book, but she writes about some disturbing topics-

I think about this a lot. We've never had more access to all the tragedy and injustice in the world, and there's no way thinking about all that all the time is good for us. But I don't think I can justify turning a blind eye to it, so we just have to make things better where we can little by little.
