"until such time" is such a Trumpian phrase = "haven't done my homework and I have no clue but I'll still try to bullsh*t my way through because I believe everyone especially the teachers are as clueless as I am"...

I do miss my DVD library, painstakingly created 😅 but it wasn't worth keeping in the end...

Was just thinking some time ago: don't build film libraries anymore, only get what you want to see--because within a few years formats will have changed again and what you haven't seen or want to rewatch, you'll get in a new format.

The lack of obvious stimulus must be especially hard for ppl who are scrolling on their phones while watching 🤣

Board might have to answer re its "strategic" decisions and their impact on the bottom line...

Same here. Didn't make it past a few episodes, I guess it's ok. A much more convincing period series (in my opinion) was Babylon Berlin. The art direction and cinematography and staging worked there in amazing ways that did not (for me) in Peaky Blinders 🤷

Lyrics that feel "written" are a bane. Same problem with literature generally speaking, and in fact academia has its own horror cases of writing that is so busy trying to be "academic" that you barely get the meaning. "Conversational" tone rules 🙌

If memory serves well, The @newyorker.com once documented the way Russia's state controlled TV aired several conflicting accounts--way more effective in generating public apathy than saying "this thing didn't happen".

Regarding @joycewhitevance.bsky.social 's caveat re authenticity & reliability of documents: it's important to remember that engineering the feeling that nothing can be known for sure IS a strategy (see DOJ's tweets saying it's mostly bogus), sometimes more effective than straight up denial.

The good old "if there was something to see/say it would have already been seen/said" argument...

Many Jewish Israelis criticize the policies of the current Israeli government, and it would be absurd to call them antisemites. That said, the Netanyahu government in fact routinely does just that---it's what you get for refusing religion as an excuse for fascist and colonialist behavior.

Would advise working with AI experts: depending on how redacting works, AI should be able to cross info such as length of blacked out names and contextual data to offer good predictions, to be later corroborated externally.

"Future broadcast" as in when (and if) there is a subsequent administration?
