While I think the schedule sample for Indiana left the window for uncertainty about their level of talent, it did not warrant any suggestion they should be replaced by any team outside of the CFP. Even as a fan within the conference I get frustrated with the overzealousness at times.

Mathematically yes, the score gap was greater but the usage of ‘beaten worse’ seems intentionally loaded with the belief that Indiana would have beaten Georgia. However, I agree with you that commentary was a bad take. Bama squarely lost 3 games while Indiana only lost to better teams in the moment.

I’m not saying that, Notre Dame won this game. But not from a lack of talent on this Georgia team nor as a representation of immediate decline by the SEC. The Irish just played better football, they had the discipline Georgia was missing.

That’s absolutely true, not going to attest the fact that Notre Dame won the game, and it’s proof why focus is so important to keep in games like these. The lack of discipline by Georgia did them in, not a lack of talent.

That’s a stretch, Notre Dame profited 17 points in a minute and some change off of very specifically advantageous playmaking. The game itself was otherwise well balanced (mainly to each team’s defensive side of the ball)
