President Trump says the U.S. government will “run” Venezuela, a prospect that is fraught with danger. He says that income from Venezuelan oil wealth will go to reimburse our military expenses there. That is a long-hated side of the U.S. that many people in Latin America see as imperialism.

It is hard to conceive of a President so insecure, narcissistic, and disrespectful. Big banners on federal buildings, wanting the Commander stadium named after him, his name on National Park Passes and on the Institute for Peace, to putting his name on the Kennedy Center. Trump is disgraceful!

In America, a land of immigrants, it is extremely sad to see the highest authorities in our land pushing racism and hatred. Generations of immigrants have contributed and enriched America. Immigrants are us. We must condemn Trump’s hateful policies.
