Queer person reviews st8 books: The truth about forever by Sarah Dessen.
This book might be too much if you've lost a parent. It was almost too much for me as someone whose mom is chronically ill/disabled. I recommend it tho. Macy wasn't as lively as Colie or Remy but I think her #bookreview 1/4

This lullaby
Was good but it's not the most memorable part to me. I think back to Remy's friends, family, and coworker than any one moment with Dexter. The book is all about if love is real, but love is all around Remy in different ways. I recommend for the supporting cast.

This Lullaby
A single character I would cut out. The mom was super annoying to me but I think she was supposed to be a somewhat unlikable character and she brought it around at the very end. If I was Remy tho I'd be way more bitter, and she's already bitter lol. The romance was good 5/6

18 year old. Truth Square was entertaining, hate the name tho. Loved the Scarlet cameo but was kinda bummed out she didn't date John Miller but maybe this means she'll end up with Cameron. Liked all the supporting cast. It really felt like a live setting. I can't think 4/6

Parented her older brother and then her brother acts like she's irresponsible? So annoying. Her friends didn't have a lot of page time but they felt established. Love a good group of girl friends in a romance book. Dexter was good, loses points for being 21 dating a 3/6 #bookreview

Is that ppl got mad at Remy for completely valid things. Like her brothers gf made me so mad. Of course she's gonna be doubtful about her mom's new marriage when it's like the fourth one. I think ppl really treated Remy as a GROWN adult not a 18 year old. Like she 2/6 #bookreview

Queer person reviews str8 books: This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen.
Remy is a bitch and I love her. Dexter was good but also hate the age gap but at least Remy is 18. Remy was a fantastic narrator. She describes things in such a unique way that showed her personality. My biggest issue

Keeping the moon
She didn't get a full makeover. She kept her lipring and her black hair. The weight stuff felt very 90s/00s but it wasn't too gross. Could be triggering if you're really sensitive. Mira was great. I recommend this a little, just bc the friendship is so wholesome.

Keeping the Moon.
I liked Norm and the romance was cute(other than the age gap 🙄) but he's not as memorable as Morgan and Isabel. Colie is a good narrator but I feel like she could have been meaner considering how she's described by herself and others. I appreciated that she didn't...3/4

Keeping the Moon
I kept forgetting that Colie was only 15 bc Morgan and Isabel were 21 hanging out with her. They felt like older sisters tho and the love between them and eventually Colie was very sweet and comforting. Really great rep of girls friendship 2/4

Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen
The female friendship is top tier. The romance is good but there is an age gap. I think Colie is 15 and Norm is 18. Truly tho, Colie being 15 is basically irrelevant in the story. Makes equal sense for her to be 17/18 1/4 #bookreview

Someone like you:
Hailey was a good and active narrator. A lot of SD protags will feel like passengers of the story but Hailey didn't. The mom made me mad but I think that's a show of how good the writing was. I felt what Hailey felt. The birth scene made me cry a lil. I recommend 3/3

Someone Like You:
The romance was compelling and lively. I liked Macon when he was kind and romantic, and felt how Hailey felt when he was crossing the line. The grief and loss of Michael remains throughout the story and it shapes the characters' actions, especially Macon and Scarlet2/3

Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen
Pretty solid read. Hailey and Scarlet's friendship was a standout and it stayed with me since I first read it years ago. The teen pregnancy plot line genuinely felt pro choice and not pro life or preachy. 1/3

Ever after high girls. Part of an AU I was working on where they have to follow a stricter dress code. The idea is that the rebels don't follow it as closely.
