I think The Remains of the Day is the best Merchant/Ivory film. Slightly over Howard’s End and Maurice.

Wonderstruck isn’t the best Todd Haynes film, but sheesh Carter Burwell’s score is beautiful.

My Neuro Oncologist told me I was a long term survivor this week. I’m proud of that, but it’s only 3.5 years. That’s depressing that I’m considered a long term Brain Cancer survivor after only 3.5 years.

Why aren’t we acknowledging the incredible work Moore and Swinton do in The Room Next Door? It’s unbelievable to me that they aren’t getting more attention, especially Moore. I know Swinton got a GG nom, but that’s not enough.

On a cold rainy/snowy and sad night, I go to melancholic comfort movies. The Accidental Tourist gets no love. Am I dumb to think this is a lovely movie? Baltimore goes beyond John Waters and The Wire.

Wednesday night movie. Sheesh the ending kills me.

I tried once again to watch The Substance. I liked it a bit better than when I saw it at TIFF, but what am I missing? Yes, I get the themes and Moore is great in it. It’s still just a solid 3/5 for me. I tend to think that having awake brain surgery has made me a bit more sensitive to body horror.

I have a playlist of trailers from movies I love from the 1950’s to the present. My mom was a trooper tonight pretending to be interested in watching my playlist. We made it to 1970. I’m sad she’s leaving tomorrow.
