My latest on Sidebars: the attorneys who have resigned rather than dismiss the case against Mayor Adams are acting in the finest tradition of the Department of Justice. My hat's off to them.

As I told the Wall Street Journal, by dropping corruption charges against NYC Mayor Eric Adams, DOJ sends the message that public officials who support Trump’s agenda will get out of jail free.

Proud of prosecutors in SDNY and Washington who resigned rather than carry out DAG Emil Bove’s order to dismiss indictment against NYC Mayor Eric Adams.

Very proud of the 8 DOJ attorneys who have refused to dismiss the Adams case. Their oath is to the Constitution, not the president.
Trump Official’s Demand in Adams Case Forces Justice Dept. Showdown
A crisis at the department over the Eric Adams case is an early test of the criminal justice system’s resilience against a retribution-minded president and his appointees.

DOJ leadership has put all Public Integrity Section lawyers into a room with 1 hour to decide who will dismiss Adams indictment or else all will be fired. Sending them strength to stand by their oath, which is to support the Constitution, not the president’s political agenda. 🇺🇸
