I woke up this morning remembering I’m headed home to Liverpool for the weekend and all I can think about is eating chips and gravy by Anthony Gormley’s iron men on Crosby beach.

I’ve just lost about 15 minutes with my head on my desk giggling like a toddler about brown noise and the urban legend around spontaneous shitting caused by an infamous musical note. This was inspired by my colleague listening to brown noise to concentrate.

For the price of a return ticket to Liverpool to visit my mum, I could have a week in the sun with cocktails. It’s not even a direct train! I crossed the whole of Czechia last year for under £20. This time, I’ll be driving north as apparently, it’s the budget option now.

Life’s been heavy, but this weekend felt like a warm hug , capped off with a last-minute invite to see The Magnetic Fields perform 69 Love Songs. Their mix of witty, melancholy, and deadpan musical magic filled the room with joy and laughter. Lo-fi synths, dry humor, and pure heart. I needed that.

You don’t actually have to both sides this. The Jewish community in the UK is not the Israeli government. You can just condemn the murder of two British Jews killed in their place of worship and you don’t have to say a single other thing.
