Personally optimal commuting for me is walking and taking the train. I have a motorcycle and I use that because transit isn't there yet in LA. It honestly makes riding the motorcycle less fun and I take it out for fun rides less than I probably would otherwise 🫤

"Car guys", like "cyclists" are to an average bike commuter, are enthusiasts. No car guy loves cars to sit in a 4 hour commute everyday, they love the track. Just like no cyclist loves riding in a gutter on a busy strode, they love the twisties. Better transit allows us to do more of what we love!

I too generally believe going on the show of a white supremacist without challenging them is beyond the pale. I also owe a lot of my current and past political education to Ryan Grim (of which I'm very grateful) so I'd like to listen to an explanation from him but also understand if others don't.

I dont know how I feel about this. He's extremely careful with his words, you can see him almost say "thank you" then changes to saying no doubt about it, and he doesnt say the posse will "like" dropsite but says it'll be "useful" whatever that means. Oh for sure, there's a floor like 15% of people that are naturally attracted to fascism and a much larger group of people that can be situationally convinced. I think what I'm trying to articulate is that the senate empowers that 15% contrary to the conventional wisdom that it disempowers them.

I think the bigger distasteful thing here is simply that the robots aesthetically resemble humans. They are made to look, talk, and move as humans do. So it feels like you have an uncanny human slave. I don't think we'd be having the same conversation if robots weren't designed to be so human-like
